Hull Rupture Demo: Availability and Save Carryover Rules

The November 2 official FAQ says the Hull Rupture demo was disabled ahead of the full release. Tutorial completion and an already unlocked Trade Mode carry over, but artifacts must be unlocked again and most other demo progress resets. An old download guide or a surviving demo store page does not establish that the trial can currently be installed.

Use the launch FAQ for the availability answer

The clearest dated answer comes from the developer's November 2 release explanation. It states that the demo had been disabled while the team prepared for the full game. That statement takes priority over older articles describing how to download the trial during an earlier period when its public availability was different.

Treat the answer as a dated availability finding, not a claim that a demo could never return. The research was checked on November 4, 2026, and does not document a later restoration. Use the official Steam listing and developer announcements for a subsequent change rather than assume an old installation instruction remains valid because the page is still indexed.

Distinguish a demo listing from installation access

A demo product page can remain discoverable after the developer changes access. Its existence preserves information about the trial, but it does not establish that every account can currently download or launch it. Keep the historical description separate from the current availability statement so the page does not promise access that the newer official explanation removes.

The same distinction applies to third-party articles with a download headline. Such an article can describe an earlier opportunity accurately while no longer answering today's installation question. Before following a trial instruction, compare its date and purpose with the release FAQ instead of treating an old link or screenshot as proof that installation is still supported.

Tutorial completion is a stated exception

The release FAQ identifies tutorial completion as one of the progress exceptions. If you completed the tutorial in the demo, the developer says you will not need to play through it again in the full game. This is a specific statement about that completion state, rather than a promise that every detail of an active demo run transfers intact.

Keep the scope of the exception narrow when planning a move to the release. Completing the tutorial does not turn the rest of the demo save into a full-release progression guarantee. Use the new player's guide if you need to refresh the management and defense loop, while treating the carryover statement as the developer's specific answer about repeating the introduction.

An unlocked Trade Mode also carries over

The second stated exception is Trade Mode when it was already unlocked in the demo. The release explanation says that option will be available in the full game for players who had unlocked it. This is separate from the tutorial exception and should not be expanded into an unsupported claim that every mode or ship unlocked during development transfers.

Distinguish having unlocked the mode from merely knowing it exists. The carryover statement applies to the specified existing unlock, not a promise that a new player immediately starts with the complete launch menu. The ships-and-modes page explains the difference between overall content totals and what a fresh save initially makes available.

Artifacts must be unlocked again

The developer explicitly excludes artifact unlocks from the carryover exceptions. The FAQ explains that the demo did not use the final unlock conditions, so those unlocks could not be transferred into the release. Plan on unlocking artifacts again rather than assume a completed demo collection will appear unchanged in the full game.

This is a progression distinction, not a list of new numerical unlock requirements. The collected material does not establish every final artifact condition. Use the rule to understand why an older unlock may be missing, and check the current game for the actual requirement instead of rebuilding a release checklist from incomplete demo information.

Understand what the earlier trial contained

The historical demo listing describes a tutorial and a replayable standard run with 20 waves and a final boss. That information explains the scope of the earlier trial. It does not reverse the later availability statement or establish that all of the demo's progression and rule details remain identical to the released game.

Use that history when interpreting older footage or a community account of a clear. A trial run can demonstrate what someone played at that time without proving a current universal build. Separate the historical completion condition from the full-release rules, especially when a guide assumes continuation behavior or construction restrictions that the November FAQ changes.

Apply the full-release rule changes

The FAQ removes the requirement for a completed neighboring module before building in an empty module slot. It also makes Endless separate from Classic instead of automatically starting after a Classic completion. These changes matter to returning players because a remembered demo habit can make the release seem inconsistent even when the current game is following the newer rule.

Artifact icons and names also changed, including cases where an old icon is used for a different artifact. Do not identify a release interaction solely by a familiar demo image. Check the current name and effect, then use the module and construction references for the parts of a returning build affected by those changes.

Make the transition without assuming a full save transfer

Use the specific exceptions as the planning baseline: completed tutorial and previously unlocked Trade carry over, while artifacts need to be unlocked again. Do not assume an unfinished run, every item or every development-era unlock is included. The developer's wording describes limited continuity rather than a general import of all trial progress into the release.

For availability, return to the current Steam page; for mechanics, follow the release FAQ over old demo instructions. If you are starting fresh, the beginner guide provides the ordinary opening priorities without depending on a previous trial save. This keeps the transition focused on confirmed access and progress rules instead of an outdated promise to download the demo or keep everything.

Separate access, progress and mechanics when returning

These are three different questions even though they all arise from the same trial. Access asks whether the demo is currently available; progress asks which states carry into the release; mechanics asks which old rules still apply. Answer each one with the relevant part of the official FAQ. A surviving store listing does not resolve progress transfer, while a preserved tutorial completion does not establish that the old construction restrictions remain in effect.

Use that separation when interpreting what looks different after moving to the full game. An unavailable trial, a missing artifact unlock and a newly usable empty module slot can each be consistent with the developer's explanation for different reasons. Treating them as separate documented changes prevents a general assumption that everything transferred or everything stayed the same. It also keeps an old demo guide useful as historical context without allowing it to override the specific release rules.
